Cambodia - Vietnam Trip Day 2 (16/06/06)
we hired the airport taxi van driver for USD35 for the whole day...he will bring us where we wana go..so the first thing is, go and watch sunrise...where? we are heading to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise....Angkor Wat is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World under the forgotten wonder category....bty, the entry ticket to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom area is USD20 per day or USD40 for 3 days...we bought the USD20 ticket...
SUNRISE !!!!
after watching enough of sunrise, we walked into the temple area and started exploring...some pictures from the temple area....

after touring around the temple like for 2 hours, we move to our next destination...a silk farm...hehe
silk cacoon...the yellow caccon will be made into silk...

in order to kill the silkworm in the caccoon, they dry the caccoon under the sun...
after visiting the silkfarm, we went to visit Angkor Thom...Angkor Thom is the inner royal city, built by the end of the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, shortly after Angkor had been conquered and burnt down by the Chams..basically in this area they are temples all around it...the only attraction to me in this area is the Tomb Raider tree..the tree which she used in her 1st movie....
after lepak in Angkor Thom for couple of hours, we headed back to Siam Reap town...had dinner at one of the foreign restaurant in town...the food was nice...i think it cost me around USD5...watched football and went to bed early coz we are taking a bus to Phom Penh tomolo morning...bty the bus ticket from Siam Reap to Phom Peh is USD6..aircond bus
