Cambodia - Vietnam Trip Day 1 (15/06/06)

One day in November 2005, i was then asleep....suddenly i received a call from my mate, Lii Kai...he told me Air Asia is throwing 2 million free tickets....with the free tickets we decided to go to Cambodia and Vietnam....cost of tickets? back and flow it is only RM 150.00...our flight to Siam Reap, Cambodia on 15/6/2006 was 10am from LCCT, KLIA. the flight took about 2 hours...

1st row > left hand side is Jin, my mate from MMU...next to him is Lii Kai, my travelling mate....

2nd row > left hand side is who? it is me...hehe...next to me is Kah Sing...my mate from MMU as well

3rd row > both are Lii Kai's friend...the chick is called Serene...next to her is her brother...i kinda forgot his name liaw...pai seh !

a view of Cambodia from the plane...why is it botak? coz Cambodia basically relies on agriculture...those are rice fields...

touchdowm in Siam Reap airport....

we took an airport taxi van to Siam Reap town...it costs us USD7...the van driver took us to a gueshouse...we checked the room and it is quite clean and the price is not that expensive..it only cost USD8 per nite...

the room is nice and cooling... :)

the toilet is clean also just that the water preasure for the shower is a little low...

my first meal in Cambodia..i had rice, vege, ikan masin and pork...it costs around USD1.5

after we had our lunch, we walked around Siam Reap town...it is a small town

the condition of Siam Reap town...not as what we expected...not that develop

now this is a lesson for you all..next time you all go travel, if you all dont want to buy then dont buy and just walk away...dont learn like Serene...sekejap wana buy sekejap dun wana buy..those kids followed and persuaded her for about half n hour before she finally bought sth from them.... LOL

well...this is how they sell ice in Siam Reap and also Phom Penh... > <

in the evening, we make our way to a lake outside Siam Reap town to visit the floating village...we hired the airport taxi van we met earlier today to bring us there...on the way to the lake we saw lots of these houses along the way...so be glad coz you are not staying in one of those houses...

once we reached the jetty, we boarded a boat..each of us have to pay USD10 for the boat ride to the floating village...along the way, we saw this floating primary shcool

and this is a flotaing hall with a basketball ball at the top...w00t

after 30 minutes ride, we reached the floating village..guess what we saw? hehe...a floating pig cage....

well, these kids are vietnamese kids...at the lake there is like 2 floating village..one is the vietnamese village and the other one is cambodian village...basially these vietnamese kids come to our boat and beg for money...not only in Siam Reap town and Phom Penh town, these kids will go to tourists and say hello hello 1 dollar 1 dollar...hehe

a kid trying hard to get to our boat...

a floating church...

as evening come, we headed back to Siam Reap town...

for dinner we went to this restaurant which offers buffet for USD12 and also 1 hour of performance...basically traditional Cambodian dancing...
